Philosophy
The primary goal of the Elite Team program is player development. Through in depth instruction and our concentration on team play, we push players to maximize their individual abilities while also concentrating on the team’s success. Unparalleled Lacrosse further believes that work-ethic, commitment, discipline, and positive attitude are vital keys to each team member’s individual and team success. Our philosophy ensures your player will become knowledgeable, skilled, and ready to take the next step with their game.
Curriculum Elite
The Unparalleled Lacrosse directors provide teams with collegiate practice plans and drills, and in-game strategies to ensure that each team is well prepared for tournament and game play. All teams will concentrate on offensive and defensive schemes that have been used by the top college programs and coaches. Core curriculum has been developed by current Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Sacred heart University, a former Wilton HS All- American and Johns Hopkins National Champion Goalie, Scott Smith. UL coaches stress unselfish play on offense while pushing individuals to maximize their skills in various motion, 141, 132, 222, and 33 sets. Defensively, coaches will teach aggressive slide and support progressions, near man, and zone packages to maximize our team’s strengths.
Coaching
Unparalleled Lacrosse believes that our staff is one of the best in the country in motivating, teaching, and developing great lacrosse players. All of our coaches have collegiate playing experience at the Division I level. Our coaching staff includes current and former players from Johns Hopkins University, University of North Carolina, Hofstra University, University of Denver, Bryant, Providence College, Loyola College, Fairfield University, Sacred Heart University, Yale, Dartmouth University, University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Maryland. We also employ the area’s top youth and HS coaches, as well as local Division 1 Coaches. All coaches are selected based on their experience and accomplishments with the game, and their ability to communicate, teach, and mentor our player’s development.
Selection Process
Unparalleled Lacrosse Elite Teams are highly competitive. Invitations to play on a team are issued at the discretion of Unparalleled Lacrosse and its Directors. Not every player participating on a prior team or in individual or team tryout will be given a position on our Elite team rosters. Players that are not offered space on our Elite Teams will be provided with the opportunity to play with one of our developmental Blue teams. Developmental teams are geared for budding players who wish to improve their individual skills while
participating in a travel team environment. Participation is granted to players who demonstrate a commitment to the game and dedication to improving their skills. All players are subject to tryout and evaluation if they have not participated with an Unparalleled Lacrosse program or coach. Coaches recommendations are welcomed. Acceptance to Elite and Developmental teams is at the Program Directors discretion.
Schedules
Our Elite Teams run during two seasons, the summer season which runs June- August, and the fall season which runs September-late November. Fall and summer teams will participate in regularly scheduled practices (at least two days per week), weekday scrimmages and competitive tournaments. Summer and fall teams will practice a minimum of 12 times per season and practices will run 2 hours a session. Team participation is a commitment and we expect our players and parents to honor and make all scheduled team events. All
players will also be playing in our annual summer leagues with their respective teams. Youth teams play Sunday afternoons in Wilton, HS players Monday and Wednesday Evenings at University of Bridgeport.
Playing Time
Youth Elite Team players will receive equal playing time at all team events. At the High School Level, all players will have equal opportunity to play in each game and team event. However, equal playing time is not our main objective. HS Programs goals include providing our players with maximum recruiting exposure.
Recruiting Aid
In addition to playing in competitive tournaments, our coaches and directors aid our players in the recruiting process and in obtaining exposure. Upon request, at no additional fee, our staff works with players on their recruiting profiles as well as provides personalized letters of recommendation, and game film to schools and coaches of interest. In addition to these resources, Unparalleled Lacrosse provides all Elite team players with password protected discounted access to the nation’s number one lacrosse recruiting tool,
LacrosseRecruits.com. Upon team acceptance promotional codes will be provided.
