Dear Scott,
Jorge and I would like to express our gratitude for all of the hard work and effort that you are putting into the development of our sons. We are most impressed with the personal level of attention that you have shown them. It seems that right from day one, you had them both figured out and knew exactly what to do and say to get through to them and bring out the best in each of them. Jorge and Travis joined your team looking to become better lacrosse players and play at a different level than what they were used to. They have definitely found what they were looking for and more. They have matured both on and off the field and we attribute this to the coaching and mentoring that you have provided. Jorge was quiet and lacking in self-confidence and now he carries himself with so much pride and although he is still quiet, it’s a quiet confidence that we see. He is amazing to watch on the field when he has that stick in his hand. Watch out! Each week we are more and more impressed with his progress. Thanks to you and your coaching staff he is certainly well prepared to play for his high school team in the spring. As for Travis, when he became a part of UL, we realized immediately that he was right where he needed to be. He was coming off of a tough season at a local level and although he always loved the sport of lacrosse, he wasn’t as enthusiastic as he was in previous years. After meeting you and the other coaches, Travis instantly rediscovered his love for the game. He couldn’t wait to get to practices and games and couldn’t stop talking about “how cool Coach Scott is”. He is, without a doubt, more dedicated, more driven and definitely a better lacrosse player because of you. A day doesn’t pass by when he isn’t outside practicing, watching lacrosse videos or stringing his head. He is never without his stick!
It is evident that you have influenced the boys’ way of thinking on and off the field and we couldn’t be more pleased with the direction they are heading in. We are confident that if they continue on this path and realize what a great opportunity they are being given as members of the UL Elite teams, they will be able to take this through high school and college if that’s what they decide. The exposure they have with UL has been such a positive experience for all of us. The tournaments have been great competition and the college players that help coach have been a great addition. We feel that Jorge and Travis really are a part of something special on this team.
We strongly believe that your experience, knowledge of the game, fairness and most importantly, your understanding of the boys is what sets you and UL apart from any other youth sports program. As the parents of five children, we have had our fair share of involvement with coaches and youth programs and your coaching truly stands out. So, thank you for all you do and please keep up the good work, it is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Yoguez

“I am very proud to be a part of the UL team. The chemistry of the boys is something that I wouldn't give up for anything. It is a very nice group of boys, and a very talented group of players as well. We work hard, but the we like to have fun too. We are very respectful to other teams as well. As we leave the end game huddle, we say a cheer for the other team. When we shake hands everything is done in a calm, and appropriate way. I think that I am getting a lot better by just a few seasons with UL. Scott Smith is the best coach that I have ever worked with. Coach Smith is the real deal!”

“My son David joined the Unparalleled Lacrosse "family" in the Fall of last year, and we have all had a blast! First of all, David has had top-notch coaching from the UL CEO, Scott Smith, a big time lacrosse star in his own right at John's Hopkins University, and now Assistant Coach of the Varsity Men's Lacrosse Team at Sacred Heart University. Our 7th-8th grade UL team has been undefeated in the Fall season, and although winning is not the most important thing, it is a great feeling to be part of a winning organization, in every sense of the word. There's no doubt in my mind that David has developed into a more complete lacrosse player through the UL program.
I mentioned that we are part of the UL family. Not only is Scott a great tactician with the x's and o's, but Scott really understands, and can easily communicate with, teenage boys as well as with the parents on the team. Scott and his staff of assistant coaches have a unique knack of getting to know the boys in a personal way, and the boys seem to respond to Scott in a positive and mature way like no other coach I have seen. Also, David has a tremendous amount of fun with UL and with Scott. Any questions or concerns that we may have as parents are addressed quickly and with the courtesy and professionalism not typically found in the youth sports world. I have been involved in youth lacrosse programs for the better part of a decade as my 21 year-old son has also gone through the ranks in the New Canaan system, and I can say that the Unparalleled Lacrosse experience is the best experience we've had. I have recommended the program to my closest friends without qualification.”

Dear Scott
Paul and I wanted to send you a note to let you know how happy we are with UL. We are truly fans of your program. We have seen such a difference in Preston in not only his skill set but also his overall maturity as it relates to lacrosse. I attribute this completely to his involvement in your program. Preston has been with UL since almost the inception of your program and I can’t tell you how nice it has been to see him develop along with the program. I do not believe we could find the same experience in any other lacrosse program out there. Your individual work with the kids is what makes all the difference in the world. You relate to them on a level that not only makes Preston love coming to practice but also inspires him to be a better lacrosse player.
I truly believe your dedication to the kids along with your knowledge as a D1 player and now D1 coach is what makes the difference. Your commitment to fine tune your program and work individually with each child and family is a very rare attribute and sets you above all other programs. I have appreciated your insight on how to develop the kids in a competitive atmosphere. It is refreshing to be a part of a competitive elite program where the focus is not just on winning but on the development of each player. Teaching the kids in tough situations to not focus on the outcome or give up but to be able to use these opportunities as skill development. At first, playing in top competitive tournaments was intimidating to Preston, but with your help he has worked through that and I now see a confidence and determination in him that I have not seen before. Through your development and preparation, I truly believe Preston will not only be ready but well equipped when he reaches the High School level because of his experience with UL.
Last but not least, it is a very rare gift to have what I call a “rock star” status with the kids. It is very apparent that as soon as you arrive you are flooded by a scrum of kids hanging on your every word. At the end of every game or practice I find myself announcing to the kids “Scott has left the building”, just so we can make our way home.
Thank you for an awesome experience with lacrosse. It has truly been a refreshing change from most of the competitive travel and town sport programs!
Best Regards.

We highly recommend the Unparalleled Lacrosse program to players who want to achieve their lacrosse aspirations. The coaching staff’s ability to connect and guide players on and off the field is key to the Unparalleled Lacrosse program’s success. Our sons have played on Unparalleled Lacrosse fall, winter, and summer teams for two years. Their lacrosse skills and level of play have significantly increased each season. Scott Smith has been an extraordinary influence in our sons’ personal and lacrosse development. Scott was diligent in submitting our oldest son’s DVD to college coaches and following up with personal telephone recommendations. His role was essential in our son securing a starting attack position on his first choice college’s lacrosse team. We are confident Scott will be equally successful as he proactively begins the college recruitment process with our second son.

My son Everett Alcan is an 8th grade goalie and he has been playing the sport of lacrosse for 3 years. He has a great deal of potential and hopes to play Division I someday. He commenced playing for the local youth league years ago which helped him to learn the basics. But since being part of Scott’s program, Everett’s interest in the game and skills have escalated significantly. Today he gets one on one instruction and plays with other children that are well skilled and can compete at a higher level. Overall, Everett looks up to the coaching staff, enjoys the team camaraderie, and is simply having more fun with lacrosse than ever before.
There is nothing more rewarding for a parent than to hear parents from the opposing team say “your son is a great goalie!” We owe it all to Scott and his staff!

Scott,
We want to thank you for all you’ve done for Brad since he joined UL. Since joining the team, over the last few seasons, we’ve seen his confidence and capabilities grow tremendously. Your program was exactly what he needed to take his skills and talent to another level outside of town travel team experiences.
In our opinion, the coaching at UL is a key distinction for your program & we’ve been impressed from the beginning. This includes the staff and caliber of coaches with real time playing experience, but equally as important, is the philosophy of coaching that is followed. Your demeanor and calm style of coaching makes the difference. You set the tone with your style of coaching and all the players gravitate to you and the coaches because of that. The program puts teaching first and helping the players grow individually, but also collectively as a team.
We’ve been excited to see the level of play at the many tournaments, games, etc. Brad has also benefitted greatly from playing with teammates from other parts of CT and forging relationships in a larger lacrosse circle. He has grown both on and off the field, and we are very grateful for everything you’ve done. We look forward to many more seasons in the future and we appreciate all you’ve done to have a positive impact on Brad.
